PUTTING THE “T” IN YOURSTORY

You’ve seen L, you’ve seen G and we’ve just had B.  So what can you expect from T and I?

The YourStory team have been working hard to make not one but TWO “T” stories.  Chipping in to do voiceover work are inspiring trans communities leaders and co-hosts on 3CR’s Out of the Pan: Sally Goldner and Blair Archbold.

Listen in, Sunday June 30th to hear Daniel Witthaus and award-winning filmmaker Jonathan Duffy talk about the YourStory campaign live!

To hear an interview I did with Sally Goldner from Out of the Pan (3CR – www.3cr.org.au) click below.  In the latter stages of the interview I talk about observations of trans young people and the need for them to have the right to make their own decisions about their bodies:

YOURSTORY, PART 3: “B”

On Friday 17th May 2013, the NICHE ‘YourStory’ Campaign was launched with “Mini”, the “L” in the LGBTI.  Soon “Jack”, the “G”, followed.

Now, watch “Jesse”, the “B”.

Watch here: “B” JESSE (YourStory)

Stay tuned in the coming weeks for T and I.

The hope is that this will inspire more LGBTI people from regional, rural and remote communities to share their stories online in either a visual, cartoon and/or animated way.

DANIEL ON DOLLY DIAMOND

Fresh from his rural visit to challenge homophobia in Mt Isa, Queensland, Daniel joined Dolly Diamond for ‘The Late Show With Dolly Diamond’.  Sitting on the couch, Daniel was interviewed by the TV star described as “Andrew Denton meets Ruby Wax”.

Stay tuned for the show to go to air soon on Channel 31 (Melbourne).  Dolly’s show comes to you every Saturday night from 10pm.

NICHE VISITS MT ISA

In mid-June Daniel Witthaus visited Mt Isa, the first of five regional, rural and/or remote communities that he’ll visit as part of LGBTI work by the National Institute for Challenging Homophobia Education (NICHE).  This followed a Brisbane launch of NICHE at Queensland Association of Healthy Communities on the way through – attended by 17 enthusiastic locals.

Returning after his first visit in 2013, local community members, especially PFLAG made him feel welcome as he completed a busy week of media (inc. the ABC), training, school visits, guest speaking and story collecting from locals.  He even got to have a cuppa with the Mayor of Mt Isa.

Stay tuned for more Mt Isa news.

YOURSTORY, PART 2: “G”
